I've got one pair of bettas in a 10 gallon tanks divided in the middle at about 75 degrees, sound good?

Is your tank filtered?
Is the water Cycled?
Buth otherwise if your keeping 2 bettas unfiltered it would still work, with water changes that is, but yeah
Im not a complete expert, so ill let someone else do the talking.
ANd 75 sounds about good, as the mid-high 70's i heard are good and whati keep mine at

yes, it's filter. They are fairly healthy at this point and I even tried them out spawning to see what they would do. Didn't work though, but I did get them yesterday so I have plenty of time(I tried it out because the male had made a nest)

75F is good. in a tank that big you won't want to do weekly water changes so you'll want it filtered and heated to keep it a constant temperature.

IF YOU JUST GOT THEM YESTERDAY DO NOT SPAWN THEM. since you posted this, i'm assuming you're new to bettas. do not spawn until you have read up on it. if you just release them when the male has a nest and the female isnt ready, you'll get a dead fish. you have to condition them, you can't just throw them together. they arent livebearers, they arent easy to breed. another thing is, everyone will tell you READ ALOT before you even attempt to breed. if you attempt it without reading up on it you will end up with a dead fish and an unsucessful spawn.

Well i found out that my male isn't at all aggressive towards the female. Will an almond leaf make a big difference in the water?

it doesnt matter how agressive they are, if they arent ready they will fight. they aren't conditioned properly if you just got them yesteday unless you got them from a breeder so they are not ready to breed.

i've never used IAL so i wouldn't know. for breeding yes, but as i stated before and i'm sure many other people will say the same, if you are new to bettas dont attempt breeding for a long while.

no problems, sorry if i came off a little harsh. it was the same thing i was told when i first started. :good:

breeding bettas takes alot of hard work. You will need a bbs hacther or microworms to feed the fry then lots of jars for males.it took me months to finaly start thinking about breeding and now im still in planning stage.

it just needs love and waterjava script:add_smilie(":eek:sama:","smid_12")
