Hi, I have my new betta and am treating it for fin rot :sly:
He has been chrashed on the bottom of his bowl and breathing weird.
Some times he sticks one gill plate out really far. Hes not eating his blood worms.
He comes up for air once and a while but other than that hes not to active.
The water isn't heated and there are no air stones or filters. I added stress coat water conditioner to his bowl. Does anyone know what might be wrong??
Thanks

maybe it's gill disease? do his gills seem swollen or discolorated? i think it's caused by bad water quality. do you change his water regularly? was he sick when you first got him?

I noticed that he had fin rot a couple of days after I got him, I do change a bit of his water every week.
His gills don't appear to be swollen or discolored, but he is flushing water through them pretty fast

Your best bet would be to change 100% of the water weekly for tanks which are unfiltered. I would do a water change and then see if you can find a medicine called Bettafix remedy. Its specially designed for small tanks. It works miracles too. Also you can try to add a tiny bit of aquarium salt.

I would say to raise the temp but you mentioned it was unheated.

Good luck.

Actually im treating with betta fix,
I was thinking of adding some salt, thanks
