my betta has been lying on the bottom of the tank for about a week hardly moving apart from to breath. Pretty sure its either constipation or swimbladder, ive added SB treatment to the water and have just taken it out of a salt bath, but it only seems to be getting worse, please help!!!

2 things:

1) Bettas and gouramis should not be in the same tank. Period. This is a disaster waiting to explode

2) Is the tank cycled? What are your stats? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, temp etc

more worried about the betta dying right now than the combination of fish, and the stats are

ammonia - 0ppm
ph - 7.5
nitrite - 0ppm
nitrate - about 80 ppm

Are you using strips or liquid tests? And if its constipation, feed the betta a defrosted, deshelled pea. Or maybe the betta is just old and her time is running short. And if the betta survives, you'll have another maelstrom of problems heading your way because of your stocking

Liquid tests are more accurate. Have you fed her a deshelled, defrosted pea? If its not constipation, and the fish can still swim to the surface for air, then I don't know what it is. But i think the salt baths may be stressing it out further if there is nothing wrong with it. Any signs of diseas? Like ich, or septicimia?

she died :'(

I'm very sorry your female Betta died.

When fish live for a prolongued time in a stressful environment like she did (as you stated in your other thread she was sharing a 20 gallon with 5 other Bettas and a gourami) then they can get sick. Stress lowers the immune-system in all living things, not only humans, and they then become more susceptible to disease they would otherwise have been able to fight off! :-(
