Hi, my Betta has been sick all week. It just sits at the bottom of the tank and deosn't want to swim. He comes up every now and then for a bit of air and food (when I feed). He seems to have a "bend" in his body and has a lump at the back of his body just before the tail. Anyone know what it could be?

Do you mean a bent spine if so you could be dealing with fish tb if the betta also has a lump.

how old is he? Lower the level of the water so he hasn't so far to come up for air. If it is old age just tlc really, if he hasn't been to the toilet and is bloated it could be swim bladder try feeding a shelled cooked garden pea squished between your fingers. If TB just tlc.

Bent spines can be old age, fish tb, internal parasites, vitamin deficiency.
Do you think its the lump that making the fish spine bend.

Thanks all, he usually now sits on top of the filter which is about 1" from the top. So he seems fine there. Hmmm swim bladder, could be, now that you mention it, he looks bloated by his poo hole? I only got him last year, around October. Don't know how old he was at the LFS. Thanks guys, so peas are the answer?

he betta dosn't sound right to me.
Yes peas are good for constipation.
