Hi
We have a female red dragon betta. We've had her for 3 weeks. She is a Thai bred fish and arrived from the same supplier as our HM male who is absolutely fine.

She is yet to eat from the surface with the others.
There are 4 other females in the tank at present, along with a Yoyo loach and 2 oto's. The tank is 70 Lts and the water stats are, Amm = 0, NitrIte = 0, NitrAte = 15, Ph = 7.2 and Temp 24.

She would take food from the bottom initially but that stopped. We have put her in a hanging net so we could feed her at the same time as the others but with out the competition. We have tried to tempt her with - Live bloodworm, glassworm & daphnia, and betta pro & hikari pellets, and flake and pea. Although she sometimes looks, she hasn't taken anything.

Believing it could be an internal problem, as she looks healthy externally, we dosed with Anti-Bac on 7th.

A 30% water change was done on the 7th prior to the anti-bac.
All the other fish are fit and healthy, and feeding well.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Not eating can be a sign of a bacterial infection.
Does she look pale or darker in colour, does she act listless and lethagic.

Her colour hasn't changed since we got her, so i dont know if she's pale or not really. Earlier she looked like she was trying to jump out the net (she cant because there's a lid), she takes notice of the others when they come to the net and swims about quite normally. Other times she hangs around the bottom. Trouble is, betta's are a bit like that normally, sometimes active sometimes not.

She was quite a small fish when we got her and she obviously has put on any weight.

Try soaking her flakes in garlic juice to stimulate her appetite.
What does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet.

LOL, i went to get some just 20 mins ago from our fridge. Its all gone so will have to pop out and get some.

Not eating can be also a sign of internal parasites.
Check her anus to see if its enlarged or red and inflamed.
