Hi have just bought my first real nano tank.

My friend and I both got the same tank (Betta Life Space 16 Litre).

It comes with hood mounted lights/trickle filter.

Ans we also have additional 25 watt heaters to make it stable.

Also got some good planting medium, a small knot of bog wood and some white silica sand.

I intend to plant the tank along one side and towards the back (I probably won't use CO2 addition).

What would you include in such a tank occupant wise?

1. I do love my catfish, and was thinking of a few pygmy corys.
2. I also like cherry shrimp.
3. too small for ottos?
4. what about more colourful occupants? (e.g. honey gouramis)...

Basically i want non destructive fish, and a pretty much self sufficient system once started (hopefully!).

Your input is much appreciated, and a photo diary will ensue.

Cherry shrimp will be fine and 3 pygmy corys will probably do ok too. I would say oto's probably arent a good idea as you need to keep them in a group.

For other fish I would suggest something small like ember tetras or white cloud mountain minnows. These fish often get over looked in the shop but can look very pretty with lots of subtle colours if kept in good conditions.
