Betta Keeping

I am interested in starting to keep bettas; not fancy show bettas or anything, just bettas. I only have one right now, a beautiful red male with blue highlights, but I'm interested in keeping more. I'm a beginner, though; is there anything that I should know before getting into this? And what is the preferred betta tank (not those stupid fancy glass things you get at stores, I know)?

You can browse thru all of the sites and get a good idea, plus (this is what I did ) read all the threads in this section and it gives you a great idea of what to look out for, what's good, bad etc etc. You'll also learn through experience

Experience is definatly the best teacher. After you read through the pinned topics, if you still have questions, feel free to ask. There is lots of very knowledgable fish lovers on here who are more than willing to help you out. Don't forget about the search feature at the bottom of the screen though. More often than not, the question you are about to ask has already been asked and answered. If it hasn't, ask away!

In my opinion the biggest decision is how you will keep them. With either cycled tanks or 100% water changes every few days.
