Hey all. I have a planted 35 gallon long that has been cycling for 5 days. I've used the correct dosage of water conditioner and bio support. I've also added about 2 gallons of water from my other (15g) aquarium. Would it be ok to add a betta at this point or would it just die immediately? I've also added 1.5 gallons of the new tank water in my bettas (3 gallon) current tank and he's just fine.

Adding the water from the current tank will do nothing, the bacteria lives on surfaces, not in the water.

I would reccomend waiting until it is cycled. If you move him over now you will have to do daily water changes to keep the ammonia at 0

If you did not add any "ammonia" to start cycling, there should be no problem.

A single Betta in a 35g tank is not likely to have any problems because of the water volume, but as there are live plants, and provided they are growing (alive), you will never see ammnia or nitrite from one Betta.

Do not use any "old" water. Fill the new tank with fresh water, using a conditioner (to dechlorinate), and move the Betta over.

If you did add some form of ammonia to start the cycling, do full water change first.

Ok I will move him over thanks Byron. I did not add any ammonia.
