Betta In A 55G?

I was just curious if a betta could be kept in a 55g? i love these fish, but am only able to have the one tank. i currently have corys, khuli loaches, cardinals and harlequins. would this be ok with a betta?

Ive kept a male Betta with cories and khuli loaches and they were fine together in a 55 gallon. In my experience, theyre not fond of lots of swimming spaces, maybe add lots of floating plants. never tried them with cardinals and harlequins tho. And they seem to dislike strong current.

tank mates sound fine if you provide so surface area thats good for him to rest then should be fine.

A shorter finned male would probably be more suited though, i have 1 in my 30 gal
