how do you keep a betta fish in a community 50 gal? or any community tank that is. there wont be any fin nippers or aqqresive fish in the tank. and ive tried to keep one in a 29 gal. but all of them always seem very unhappy and i move them to bowls. is there any particular setting to keep them healthy?

Hmm... make sure the filter has low current output so the betta isn't disturbed by turbulence. And have lots of plants, caves and such for him or her so they can escape the hustle and bustle of the other fish if they want to.

I use a divider to block alot of the current from my filter.

what if the betta is still unhappy after blocking some flow, do you know of anything else that could go wrong?
