hi im from the uk went away for the weekend and forgot to turn my aquarium light off it was three days my betta has lost all his color can some1 help please thanks soz about the pic best i could get

I don't think leaving the light on would have made him lose his colour, but I'm sure lilfishie will be able to tell you if it would or not!

How big is the tank, how long has it been set up? Did you cycle the filter? Also, if you have a test kit, could you tell us your water parameters? :)

my tank has been set up for about 4 months i done the cycle for about a week i need to get a test kit my water isnt coudy or green i do a 25% water change weekly if that helps thanks

sorry my tank is a 130 litre

Okay. The cycle was too short, but seeing as it's been set up for so long it's probably cycled now.
If you can, can you get hold of an API liquid test kit and test your levels, or take your water to an LFS and get it tested?

Does he seem to be breathing fast or acting strangely in any way?

Ahh, okay. Does he have anyone else living with him?

i have 1 male mollie 1 female platy 1 red crab 6 penguin tetra 2 bonos aires tetra 2 angelfish 2 clown loaches 2 plecos my betta has been in the tank for about 6 weeks now

no he aint breathing fast ive put him in a floating tank cos when i came though this mornin he was at the bottem just layin there

Ok.

Crabs and fish do not mix, crabs eat fish. You need to remove/rehome.

Angelfish and betta's do not mix, they will fight. You need to remove/rehome.

From memory penguin tetra are nippy fish.

Clown loach will outgrow that tank. Future rehome.

My advice, remove the betta to a smaller tank on his own and he'll be much happier.

i agree, since your in Leicester do you have a Homebargins or B&M near? they do 4 gal tanks for £12 with a filter, perfect for a betta :good:
