g'day everyone.
just curious. is it important to have a heater in your fighter tank?
i currently have a 3 gallon tank with a blue vt fighter.
ive been told a number of times that if i dont the fish will seem some what sluggish.
ive had this better for a good 1 year and 9 months with out a heater but ive spent a while thinking on it.
im not even sure if they make a heater for a tank that small.
hoping for a speedy response.

good morning,
it depends on the temp. in your house. If you have had the fish that long and he is ok why fix it if it isnt broken!

Some of my bettas have heaters at the moment mostly because they have swim bladder problems and are hapier with a bit of warmth, when the weather gets colder I have central heating on as I dont like cold myself. The tanks that are not near warm spots in my house have heaters, the others dont.

What about a photo of your little betta? :good: :good:

yes heater is a good idea especially in winter

I guess its a tad warmer over there in Melbourne than here in the UK so if he's been ok so far then like Liz says, if it 'aint broke then don't fix it. A nice constant warm temperature that doens't fluctuate too much is good :D
