So I just bought a betta and it’s covered in this fungus. On its skin it’s pretty grey but it also looks like biofilm growing on him. Does anyone know what it is? As well as how I can treat it?

Sorry about the pic I was in the car and I need info asap

need better pictures.

if you just bought the fish, take it back and get a healthy one.

Why? He'll die if brought back. Try to treat it the best you can. Idk what it is or how to treat but it never hurts to try salt... 2 table spoons per 5 gallons for no more than 2 weeks

Yea I really didn’t want it to end up dead at the store because with the water quality it had, that’s what would’ve happened. So maybe I can save it.
Okay I’ll give it a shot thanks!

No problem!
I really hope he gets better! If he does, name him patches 😅

Nobody should be buying sick fish and stores shouldn't be selling sick fish. If they have a sick fish and you want it to try and save, they should give it to you for free, not charge you.

it could have a bacterial infection or who knows what. A number of bettas and guppies have been coming in with drug resistant bacteria that slowly eats the fins and body. The fish eventually die after the owner spends heaps of money to no avail.

That may be true. But would you do that to a dog or a cat? Of course not. You would nurse it back to health.... Well the you Amy eat the cat @Colin_T but the dog you would probably nurse back to health... Right? I mean your part wolf sooo...

I get that completely however it was like $7 so I don’t mind at all and I think every fish should get a chance
