Betta Had Babies But There Is Trouble!

Hi my bettas had babies and this is about the second day that he is spending with the eggs, but he doesnt seem to be working hard any more! About 20 eggs are on the ground and he never goes down there to pick them up! He just keeps working on the bubble nest, which is almost gone! What's going on? Will babies hatch on the ground? ???

anyways, not all males are that experienced with spawning and they might leave the eggs on the ground. If he's really making no progress take him out and make sure the eggs are getting moved around to prevent fungus from developing

thanks... he is the male that has spawned MANY times before and he picked them up now... but i just hope he is more careful because the babies should be hatching any time now. But if problems continue ill do what you said. thank you.
