hey people..yesterday evening i when to feed my fish and when it came to feeding my betta i noticed his gill was sticking out to the side slightly....as i looked closer i noticed the top part of his gill looks like its been scraped off, and the pink bit is showing slightly aswel:(

At the moment ive put him in a smaller tank and lowered the water level, i also added a little aquarium salt to prevent any fugus. what should i do now..he doesnt seem too bad at the moment.
thanks corey.

ive had him for about 3 months and he's in his own tank....i cant get any pictures up sorry im not at home at the mo...its not as bad as it sounds i just dont want him to get any worse:( i think maybe he did it on one of the rocks in the tank. the tank is 60 litres , but now hes in a smaller 4 gallon

you could try finding some pimafix....this prevents fungal and bacterial infections or melafix which helps repair damages!

turns out theres nothing wrong with the gill it just looked liked hed cut it because it was slightly poking out to the side....i think he must have strained it flaring or something...anyway hes fine now :D
