random question what are the m/f ratios on the fry is there normaly less male than females or more malesor pretty even

not sure if this applies for betta's, but with a lot of fish it depends on the acidity of the water. if the waters acidic then you get more ____ and if it's more alkaline then you get more _____. can't remember which way round it is though.

that probably didn't help at all lol.

cheers :good:

Don't think it does apply for bettas I've had two different spawns in the same ph and one spawn produced mostly boys and the other all girls bar one boy! it appears to vary.

Breeders have been manipulating the ratio by selective breeding for decades. Many strains of Betta's and Guppies have a much higher male to female ratio because of the demand for the more colorful and bigger finned males. Both my Guppies and my Betta fry are about 2/3rds male and 1/3rd female.
