Ok. I know your suppose to feed Bettas a varied diet. Mainly consisting of pellets or betta bits. However... I have the pickiest eater of a Betta. He was fine on pellets, that was until i gave him his first blood worm... All hope was lost after that. He went a Week without eating a thing because all i would put in was pellets, removing them after several minutes (so as not to spoil the water). Hed come up, sniff at them, then swim away. Uninterested. I felt horrid, so i gave in and gave him his blood worms. At that point, I tried Several different pellets or betta bits, including Hikari Betta Bio-Gold. He turns his nose up at them. So i vary his diet with tubifix worms, brine shrimp, and blood worms. Any suggestions other then starving the poor creature? Or just let him have his way. Amazing how Bettas get you to jump through hoops to please them. Lol... Either that or hes living up to his Mr. Grumpy Gills name. I would love some advice.

try a good flake food-perhaps that is what he is used to eating. not all bettas will take pellets (and flake is actually better=less change of constipation than pellets). a few snails/shrimp will do a great job of eating up any leftovers. and so long as you dont over feed will not be overrun with snails).
bloodworm will actually be good for him with his fin condition. feed 2-3 every other day. high protein is good for growth and repair. have you tried feeding him bits of cooked deshelled peas yet? good to clean them out once a week or so. also frozen daphnia or brine shrimp will help to vary his diet. if feeding freezedried, make sure you soak them in a little tank water until soft before feeding.
cheers
