Well my friend and I are thinking of putting a betta in our school locker. You see we have two lockers, one of them we have loads of stuff in, and the other one we dont use. So my friend said he will buy a light, food, and a bowl, if I agree to buy the betta. When we do this do you think it will survive over weekends and spring break?

well we will take him home for summer, but spring break is 1 week. If he is in a bowl how often will we have to do water changes?

Why buy a fish to hide away in the locker?

unfiltered tank = water changes every 3 days

also think this is a silly idea.
doubt the school would be that impressed

what happens if people get pushed into the locker?
if classmates you don't get on with get wind of it and decide to terrorise the poor thing?

why don't you just keep a betta at home?
in a nice STABLE enviroment, rather than closed away in a stuffy locker?

How would you do 100% water changes in 2 minutes you'd have to have water ready and it would look really wierd to see someone changing fish water during the time when your supposed to be heading towards class and how would you run a light in it when their would be no electricty?

Also knowing kids and pranks someone will try to harm it, i think it's a stupid idea aswell.

no offence but i think that is one of the daftest things ive ever heard.

i agree, people are bound to bash into the locker during the day, water sloshed all over the place and one nervous wreck of a betta :-(

Why don't you have a pretend one in their for a month, this may seem silly but do a kin dof practice drill, see if it get's knocke dover see if you can manage water changes etc etc
