Hello,
I just read something interesting and I thought I would share it with you. I read on this very helpful Betta fish web site that in the summer, when it gets hot, Betta fish are more seceptible to bacterial and fungal infections, which I didn't know. My fish died of a combination of a fungal infection as well as fin/tail rot. I wish I would have known that before hand. That way, I would have been able to save him.
