OMG!
ask a question about a common live bearer and i could awnser but i have just read a article online saying that a guy has a male fighter in a goldfish bowl without a heater>?

can this be true surley he wouldnt live the water temperature hed just die? the guy wanted to know what other fish he could add that diddnt need heat i was going to post a replie but my computer crashed im so angry can they realy survive without heaters> and can tehy live in goldfish bowl's ?????????

as long as the temp is 70-80, the betta should be ok. that's not to say anything about the inconsistent conditions inside the bowl though

I wouldn't not use a heater myself, but I have lots of my fighters in 2-3 gallon goldfish bowls and they are always building nests.

I've kept bettas in tanks with no heater and they're fine. You just need to ensure that the tank temperature remains above 70.

yeah bettas are fine without heaters (regardless, it's necessary that the temp stays around or above 72) but it's really suggested to have a heater in the tank anyway because it helps keep the temp the same.

In the summer I kept them without heaters in smaller bowls, in the winter they went into community tank and own tanks with dividers and heaters.
