Bettas are my favourite types now and I just got a second one, So how many do you have and how do you keep them where to draw the line before I go overboard and get more than I can handle, I already regret missing a beauty that was red with turquoise accents.

ahahaha, bitten by the betta bug already! i think once you get your 2nd betta, you are in toruble :p I have 4 with space for one more, have promised the husband I will not get any more tanks so I'll have to stop at 5 until the fish in my other tanks die, and then I can divide those up too!!! :)

Wow five in seprate tanks, mine is in a bowl the other in a community tank with three differnt breeds that I need to exchange for more bettas.

Any siete that give instructions on how to make tank partitions?

No, I tried that but the new addition was attacked immediately by the older one, now I have put the older in a bowl and the new is in the tank, the person I bought it from a vendor selling fish off from a cart, had kept it in a tinty frosted plastic packet with about an inch of water and then put the package in a cooler and that too covered up, he had another which looked like a plakat win purple with turquoise shading but I didnt get that, so the poor thing is stored in that awaful condition.

You STILL have a betta in a 5gal with an angel, goldfish, and cory?

you should draw the line now until you can offer 1 (Read ONE) betta with a healthy and happy home. IE not a bowl and not an unacceptable "community tank".

my 2 cents

I have a sorority of 7 HM females, and a divided CT male.

I'm not satisfied yet though

I've just ordered myself a pair of Purple Dragon HMPKs, and 2 different male HMs to breed with some of my females!

I've grabbed myself a few ebay fishtank bargains, so I've got a few spare tanks just sitting around waiting to be used

I think after this I will be done........for now :shifty:

At the most, I had 6 bettas at once. But after a large die off, I'm now down to only one.
Of course I would love to get more, but after many of them had died probably due to a fault of my own... I plan on only keeping 1 at a time.
It is very VERY tempting though when you see so many gorgeous ones in the store, but I resist it.

Currently 4 males and 1 female. I had 9, but columnaris went through and killed them all. I have comfortable (2 gals each) space for 4 more at any moment, and also space for more tanks if I need them. I have room for virtually unlimited females (understocked 20 gal quiet community). I won't go and cram every available glass box chock full of bettas, but I'm not going to pass up any bargains... like that CT female that was in the LFS on Tuesday... She's no longer there, she's mysteriously turned up in one of my jars.

We just have the one, Dunc in his 5 gal in the living room. He is technically my mothers fish, but the tank is mine and I do all his maintenence ( mother would invariably end up killing him with very old fashioned methods of tank maintenence so I banned her from everything but feeding )

I would like more but I honestly haven't the plugspace for filters and heaters. And the only other area is the kitchen. Mother won't allow another tank of any sort even in there, so It's just Duncan for now. When I am able to move out in 4 million years time I will have a few 5 gals going :p
