Hi all,

Well yesterday morning woke up and my female betta was perfect swimming round happy as usual, fed her and she ate it all up. came back from work and she's sat on the bottom. I watched her for a bit and she wasnt moving. tested water all seems fine 0ammonia, 0nitrite, about 20-40ppm nitrate testing with api master test kit and temp 25-6degC. She doesnt seem to move or want to swim, kinda just wriggles abit. also she's on the bottom either on her side or with her head to the floor and tail up. I decided to transfer her to a small hospital tank that night. watched and no real improvement overnight. this morning alive, but no improvement and now back from work the same.

I've seen her go for air at the surface twice, both not really swimming but using her front fins. I got her in a breeding net so she's closer to the surface. Visably she looks perfectly normal no inclination to whats wrong. Oh and shes about 2 years old.

any advice would be appreciated, however i feel like her time might be up =[

thanks

michael

Well she is still hanging in there. Her tail now has some blood streaking. But she seems more active not laying on her side and she has even eaten some food.
