Hi

im new to bettas always wanted to keep one can I add one to my exsisting tank of fish?

I have clown loach a opaline gorami and neon tetras. or would he/she do betta on his own?

I was thinking of gettin an arcadia arc tank for one would i need to cycle it?

And do bettas need betta food or will tropical flake do?

A gourami, no good, the neon tetras would nip his fins, and yes, the betta needs betta food. I do not know what an arcadia arc tank is, however, bettas need at least one US gallon. And you would need to cycle the tank. You don't need any special products, just set the tank up, add a little betta food, and monitor the ammonia and nitrite levels over the next few days (or weeks) and when the cycling over, add your bettas.

you only need to cycle the tank if you are using a filter. if you have no filter then he can go straight in the tank and you just do large water changes regularly. i do a 90% change twice a week.

Since you already have a tank, you can just put a bit of filter media from the old filter into the new one and the betta can go straight in.

Hi,
I have 3 of the arcadia arc tanks and they are really good. The filter is supplied with the tank and has a spray bar which i used to direct at the glass to keep the water movement down... (I've now changed over to sponge filters..)
The only thing to be wary of is if you get a jumper!! The gap round the lid is quite big.. I have a female in one of mine, (we call her jumping Jade) and she could easily get through the gap if she decided to jump. I had a bigger lid made for her tank but the boys are fine..
I would always cycle a tank first but that's my personal choice... Good luck :good:

We had a beautiful blue betta with a few neon tetras and he was fine with them. they didn't nip him or anything and he was a happy fishy!
