I have a single male betta in a 28l tank. I have sand on the bottom and live plants. I'm worried he's getting lonely (don't even know if that's possible!) so thought about adding a couple of dwarf frogs. Would that work in that size tank? I have anotehr larger tank they could be rehomed to if it all went wrong just wondered if it would be wise to even try.

It depends on individual Betta's personality. I read some people had a good luck keeping them, but by Betta harassed all of my African Dwarf Frogs to a stressful death. So from my experience i have to say NO. Just in case if you try, make sure you have a backup plan. I currently keep my Betta with various shrimps (12Ghost, 5 Red cherry, 1 Crystal Red and 1 Amano), there were some casualties at the beginning, but now everyone lives in peace.

I have roughly the same set up a betta with two african dwarf frogs and they get on fine. at the start the betta had a wee peck at the frogs but then realised they wern't food and just leaves them alone now
