hi, im getting a beta fish and i was wondering what fish could be keept with them please help me

it depends on the size of the tank you will have him in. also, some bettas dont get on with anyone, even snails. remember they need a filter and heater like other fish.

yes, but what size was your tank and filter? dont crowd the little guy-begs for problems.
also make sure you jave lots of hidey holes and resting spots. makes bettas more comfortable.

Mine is now in 100 ltr pretty much on his own. All other fish moved into 535 ltr tank.

Depending on your tank size and provided he is in a filtered heated tank of 5 gallons or more you could have

Snails(very messy creature and alot of bettas take a disliking to them)
Cories, for anything smaller than a 10 gal you could only have pygmies which like groups of 6 or more.
Ottos, i wouldnt recomend these as they need a mature tank and are rather sensitive to water stats.

Its hard to say becasue everyone have a different veiw on this... And it all depends on tank size and the aggressivness of your betta. Some people say only Corys/Shrimp small things like this... But other people say you can keep them with tetras or birhgt things. All I can say is...

Dont put with anything with bright or long fins -> the betta wont like this and might kill that fish

Dont get anything that might nip his fins -> tetras etc... These will ruin his nice long fins and might cause infection for the betta

Mine lives in a 115ltr with 10x T. Hengeli, 6x I. Werneri and 6x Y. Sidthimunki. They are all ignored completely and may as well not exist.

I did try some Oto's a few weeks back but he hated them instantly and was flaring and attacking them within seconds. Not sure what happened there because of all potential tank mates for a Betta the Oto seems to me to be the most commonly cited as compatible.

Guess its all about the Betta and his personality.
