what the best way to put my light on my tank its a CF 65w fixture on a 29g
-should i put the fixture directly on the tank with the glass canopy
-or should i take the canopy off and put the 2 inch standoffs on the light and then put it on... whats better
-whats the best way is there another way then these 2

P.S should i be using a 50/50 bulb or a daylight bulb...does it matter

you can try hanging it above the tank, that looks cool and works just as well, but never put a open light bulb above the water, if it fell, or water got on the bulb it could do some seriouse damage, you can make a custome hood for it, that is what i will be doing for my 25 gallon tank ( i have a hood that only fits one bulb, which means i only get a 15 watt bulb in there, and my LFS which i work at, desnt cary another hood that hooks up 2 light bulbs)

but whatever you do make sure its save, and has protectang glass, or plastic so the water will never touch the bulb, also if parts of the bulb hang over the tank, make sure they are safe too

Go for Daylight (6500K). 50/50 I assume is daylight and actinic - not ideal for freshwater as the high blue content may cause algae.
