Best Way To Use Terracota Plant Pots?

i quite like the idea about plant pots in a tank,

i have just found a couple in my jungle of a garden but they are about 10" diameter.

hows best to use them ie: try to get it in whole or should i break it in a few bits to make a few hiding places?(like a cave)

has anyone got any pictures or links of tanks with pots in so i could get a few ideas?

You could put them in on their side to create a cave. Put them upright so fish can swim in the hole at the top if it's big enough. Also, smash a whole in the side and put them upright.
