I got some tanks today but they need a good clean was thinking of using bleach how should I go about doing this! Like should I use half water and half water, and how do I make sure I got all the bleach off! :good:

IF you use bleach, you could do 1:15 - 1:20. I would think you could use a vinegar solution to clean it. Usually they should be ok, and just need to have a little scrub down and something to disolve the lime buildup maybe.

So you think just plan old water would be good enough, Id hate to use something and make it harmful for fish.

i tried this.
cleaning my tank out with bleach.
i was cleaning bleach off for 3 hours.
and 6 of my angelfish, still died.
such a pitty.

Plain water is good for general cleaning, white vinegar works on hard water stains. Use 1 part bleach to 20 parts water for steralizing. Any dechlorinator will neuteralize chlorine bleach. I use bleach solution on everything from fry tanks to water change equipment, and have never had a problem.
