I am in the middle of trying to figure out what I want in my tank, I know I want the driftwood/rock natural look with a few plants.

Being that its such an odd shape I was wondering if there was something interesting I could do, I had thought about a structure in the middle, but I dont know, the more I think about it the more I dont know about it.

I had also thought about a high structure on the back wall and a little bit onto the sides, but dont know if I can lean things against the glass. or if it will make it too hard to clean or something.

I just want to make best use of the full tank so that the fish are all over it, and not just at the top or bottom (I know the fish I pick influence this).

If you have any other tips for deep tanks please let me know those too :)

ps its a 37 gallon. and after thinking I this it might only be 26" high, I was a bit tired when i measured this morning. Its still much deeper then most tanks without them being very large tanks.

If you plant toward the back, leaving an open area at the front, then above the open area put some floating plants, this will mean that the plants at the back still get light but the fish will/ should swim in the foreground quite comfortably.
This more of an issue in a tall tank because the light has to be stronger to penetrate all the way down the tank.
As to other aspects of layout, it's so much personal choice - have a look at pictures in the photo forum, see what takes your eye....

in petstores they have some neat waterfall type of ornaments that are tall and you put your air pump tube on it. I had one from exboyfriend but it was too big for tank, don't know what he was thinking and brought it back and ended up making a planted tank. They are not cheap but it is worth it, thinking of getting one for my angelfish tank since it is a tall tank, or something like it.

I have a tank the same size. I found a great big hunk of root at the LFS. It had twists and turns, natural caves. The fish loved it, the upside down cat was all over it all the time and others would be swimming around the roots. I was offered a huge amont of money for it a couple months ago and sold it. Now I wish I did'nt.
