i have just invested in an external filter, what is the best way to remove the juwel internal filter, also where can i buy the suckers to fit my juwel heater as it won't have them as it fitted in the internal filter housing?

the internal filters are only siliconed onto the glas using 4 small blobs, 1 in each corner. take apart everything you can and using a sharp razor blade carefully cut through the silicone. once off if any silicone remains then scrape it off with the blade. :good:

I did this with all my fish still in and had a bit of a struggle but not too many problems, I used the "snappable" blade you get from B&Q for under £1, worked a treat as you extend it right out and it is quite flexible. :)

As per above post, yes fine.. just watch they don't hover around the blade!

Removed mine a few days ago. Did it with a sharp kitchen knife, ensuring the tip was clear of the tank glass seals I cut through the top two blobs. Once the top two blobs were cut then just pulling the top away released the two bottom blobs.

Cheers
