Best Way To Prune These Plants

i have both ambulia sessiliflora and hedyotis salzmannii growing well in my tank,what is the best way to prune them.

Ambulia: just cut it at the desired length and replant the pieces. For the hedyotis I am not sure, but I would say the same way.
