During yesterdayts water change i noticed that teh Dom Male has a row of Large Sores long his back.

I tried for an hour to try and ctach him but could not even taking out the floating plants and removing some of the Bogwood.
He just wedges himself into the in/out take pipes of the external.
He is still showing his Dom Colors but i know that once these sores set in on a dwarf, theres not much chance of survival.

Whats teh best way to catch him.

He Spends his time patrolling the back of the tank -Surface.

I have seperated the Large females and other males from him (in with the Endlers) - but he very fast and hard to catch.

Obviously boils down to the individual fish but i fine the easiest way to catch my gourami (excluding my thick-lips who literally swim into my net, honestly..) is to leave a well cleaned pint glass in containing an algae wafer, wait for the fish to swim in and seal it with the net over the end.

Similar is to use the pint glass to go in from above the fish, if it isn't too nervy of you/the glass works very easily. Once the fish is in the glass IME it will swim upwards, just invert and lift the glass quickly; job done.
I find some of my fish are terrified of the nets presence, more than they are of myself.

Hope it isn't DGIV, good luck to the gourami....

Well one of the best ways is to use to nets. One net to lure the fish away from the first net and catch it with the second net. This is one of the best ways to catch fish without putting stress on them or any damages.

I found an easy way to catch a platy once (after giving up after a good half hour of her bolting around the tank and terrorizing the whole tank with my net) was to leave the top off the tank (so you don't make noise later) and wait until its dark, lights are off and the fish are hovering around in 'sleep' mode. Sneak into the room (dim lighting won't wake them) then just scoop them up in a net. They don't even see you coming. I think before the fish even 'woke up' properly and realised what was happening it was already in the hospital tank!

Especially if your guy hangs out near the surface it should make an easy job for you.

thanks for the Tips Guys,

Its a little difficult as the tank has a 5inch shelf going round the inside of the tank and nets wont reach into the corners.

Ouch! That looks like a really big, painful zit.

I hope he gets better. He's a honey right?

Manage to catch him ok?

not been able to catch him, he is so fast.
but it seems to be going down.

He fought back, he's in isolation ATM and the Spots have gone down.
But now the other males seem to be withering away while the females are nice and fat with Eggs.
