so it has no bubbles or gaps. I currently just tape the sides but it always looks crap.

Any ideas most welcome.

Thanks

baby oil or similar can work, spread it on the back of the tank, then once the backing is on, slowlly remove the air bubbles.

Personally I just use two sided tape and tape it along the top and sides.

cooking oil, or baby oil will do it.

rub the oil on, then put the background in place and smoothe it out with a bank card or alike.

silly question, but does the oil ever dry up?

i wouldn't have thought it would, but just want to ask, lol!

recently put a background on one of my tanks, and like the original poster said, it does look crap, cos one side has stuck to the back, and the rest hasn't.

I bought something called Seaview Background Illuminator and Adhesive, its a very thin oily liquid that you apply to the background and then attach the background to the tank. Once its on you just need to smooth the bubbles out with a bank card.

Over a few days the liquid dries adhering the background to the tank.

You can buy it at online retailers and Ebay.

Good luck.
