Has anyone ever grown heirloom tomatoes? What variety did you grow, and did you have any troubles with disease, bugs, etc.?
One of my hobbies is growing plants and collecting their seeds. I bought a Brandywine tomato plant last year, saved seeds, and have 4 plants this year. I'm having a hard time with blossom end rot. Is that a common problem with this variety? I've done a little research, and it is possible that the beginning of the summer was to warm, but it has cooled off quite a bit, it almost feels like october weather.
So, if anyone can give me any advice on what I might be doing wrong, or if I chose a bad variety, I'd really appreciate it.
