whats the best quick acing treatment for finrot.???

And can finrot kill fish within 24-48hrs and spread rapidly??

I dont think finrot in itself kills the fish, but leaves them at the mercy of other infections. If its early finrot treat with Mefalfix for minor scrapes etc, if its past that interpet do a specific treatment for finrot.

make sure your waters good though, I usually find finrot, bladder problems to be water chemistry related.

melafix doesn't stop finrot, it only helps heal it, aquarium salt can help heal finrot too, also to stop it spreading further doing salt dips can help endlessy....if you want to know how to do these let me know!
Finrot can only kill the fish if it retreats all the way to the body, because the fin tissue can not regrow from there.
Is the fin black round the edges, or is it falling out in chunks or fraying?

it can become black if you look at my other thread "Losing Fish Rapidly Need Help Please!"

i have nearly lost all my fish
dont know what to treat it with???

Ah weird....normal fin rot shouldn't kill fish as people have said, sounds like something else is going on.....just for finrot though in the UK myxazin and melafix is good, pimafix and melafix has also halted finrot for me, but my fishes fins were dropping out in chunks :(

in the US i've been told maracyn one and two is good.

But it sounds like something else is going on there, they shoulnd't just be dropping dead like that :(

what do you think it could be ??? my 2 rainbows look awful and i think ill lose them within the next 24 hours.

when any of these fish that have died developed the first sign of anything wrong within 24-48hours they were dead!!!!

why do you think this is happening

ive lost

6tetras
5 harlequins
2 guppies
1 rainbow fish

the ones that look like will be dead soon are
2 rainbows
1 harlequin
1 female betta
1 cory

which leaves me only
1 blue ram

this has wiped out my tank!

are the fins very very short, or are they just acting all wrong?

did wilder look at your original post?

Wow - didnt realise you had lost all those fish too

Doubt its finrot. As I said melafix is good for scrapes etc, not if its this bad though, I cant believe its finrot.

As said....think you might need wilders help on this one... :shout:
