Right the tank available is 36x15x12
I plan on a fully planted tank, I'm setteled on most things but I'm looking for suggestions on what filtration system to run 8)

What are your plans for the tank as far as what plant species, substrait, light and all the other things that go into makeing a plant tank. all that will depend on what type of filter you will need. Rose 8)

That is the same size tank as me!! :) But yours is just for plants whereas mine is my complete tropical setup! :p you are very lucky!

Well... I could go for a full Dennerl system at about £200 ($285). ButI was thinking of a mineral soil and some sand and quartz of 2inch at front and 5inch at the back.
Lighting of 2x 30" 25w bulbs (plant tubes). Wasn't going to bother about a under gravel heater though (tell if i should). I fancy it quite densely planted but if not done enough readding to pick plants yet.
I'm intrested in what the flow rate should be abd if i'm better with internal or external etc.

:) :)

I'll tell you what my set ups are like and then we can go from there.

10g Fully planted tank:
1" laterite/ gravel mix on top of that I have about 2-3 inches of plain ol gravel.  I have 45 watts of light (1 twin strip 18" with 15watts each bulb and a single 18" 15watt bulb.  All are GE Sunshine bulbs 5k, I belive is the Kelvin).  I have a Penguin 125 w/ bio-wheel for the filter.  I have the smallest powerhead you can find as well (use this to move some of the plants and to give some of the fish a current).  I have a 100 watt submersible heater I believe.  As for the fish I have 1 proven pair of Kribs and 3 Pearl Danios.  Danio's are being used as Dither fish.  As for plants I have Water Sprite (fast growing), Money wort (fast growing), Red Wendtii, Java Fern, Apponogeton Bulbs (fast growing) there are a couple of other plants in there I just can't think of what they are at the moment.  Here's a pic of the 10g with plants named

Two things I really recommend are fast growing plants and lots of light wattage.  These two things arevery important to a planted tank.

If you have any questions on my tank set up or want the specs on y 46 bowfront fully planted tank let me know.  I'll be happy to answer them for you.  Rose 8)

I just got it to work so try again. I forgot to put something in the link. Sorry about that. Rose 8)

Yeah cool tank
Think I'm fine on the lighting side just now, well I'll see how it goes. Theres plently of room to another anyway.

How long does the laterine last?? do you add any nutreints or stuff?

I was going to import some Altum Angels, plus I've got plenty of congo tetras, so couple of them and two flying foxes to boot.

I would like it a bit amazon-ie. So I'll need to more research for plants. The water here is slight soft, so I'll need plants for this. I can also get a co2 kit for 20 bucks so Might invest in that.

I'll just let my brain tick over a bit :music:
