Best Shoaling Fish

whats the best shoaling in your opinion and why?

It is all a personal opinion. Neons are very common. They are very beautiful. Personally, I enjoy my neons. Some other people thing that they are boring. What do you mean the "best?" Are you talking about hardiness? If so, neons usually prefer a tank that has been established for 6 months or above.

Oh, I see. I would say that I like neons the best. Just because of their color, and how common they are! It might sound weird about them being common, but I could reccomend them to someone, and they would actually be able to find them! Just a personal oppinion, though.

I love my bosemani rainbows which are classed as shoaling fish, because they are a good size, colourul and make use of all levels of the tank and not just the bottom like plent of other fish.

seconded! Bosemani's are one of my favorite fish, so colourful for trops, I hope to have a larger tank in the future with some reasonable size shoals.

Very fond of my Harlequin Rasboras - they shoal well together and look cool! They quite often break off into 2 groups and then regroup when the angels come for a nose at what's going on.

Penguin Tetras in my opinion, always seem to stay together, always seem to face the same direction.

I guess numbers is also what can make a shoal more impressive. You have 13 Harlequins, which looks more impressive than 6 harlequins. I wish i had a tank big enough for 20 bosemani rainbows, as that would look good too. I have seen tanks with masses upon masses of cardinals or neons which can look neat.
