Best Plants For A Beginner

Ok, I'm basically clueless when it comes to growing and maintaining healthy planted aquarium. I've got a 20 gallon tank and would like to make a nice planted aquarium. I've read most of the guides and am still a little shakey. I need to know what would be some good plants and moss for a beginner to grow, and what that plant will require, light, water types, co2, fertilizer ect. So if anybody could recommend some with a little instruction and how to with the plant that would be awsome.
