My local fish retailer shut down due to finacial crunch and left with usual pet shop who don't sell anything bigger than 125ltr tanks. Has anyone got any ideas thought about trying online but have heard some negative things so don't want to go down that route unless really trustworthy.
2ndly has anyone got ideas for using a tank as a focal room divider as I think it would look really good if done right.
3rdly I live in hard water area and have been told to use rainwater. I have a seperate rain water butt which I use solely for fish tank water changes is this ok.

Seapets, warehouse aquatics, aquariums delivered are all good sites, that Ive used and are reputable :good:

Lots of keepers in your area, so long as the fish are acclimatised properly, you shouldnt have a problem, wouldnt use rainwater as its not the cleanest of water. You could use RO water.

These guys are pretty good too

I ordered my tank from seapets, as advised on here and it took about 3 weeks to be delivered (rung them up after a week and was told it was out of stock)

Anyways whilst I was waiting for the tank, I ordered a few times from aquariums delivered for the rest of the stuff I would need (water conditioner, external filter, plants, decor, test kits etc) and I had very fast delivery times.

Check them out...

Get it off of Ebay. You will get it so much cheaper - thats where i got my 250L 4 foot tank with stand, filters and lights from! I paid half the price I would have from a shop!

Just go to the Ebay 'site map' , then 'home and garden,' then go to 'pet keeping supplies' - 'more catagories', then 'fish', type tank in 'search'and change the 'sort by' to highest price first. It cuts out all the small tanks and you just scroll down till you find your price range!

The only problem I find with Ebay is that I use the search engine to find tanks locally (don't drive) and you can be quite limited depending on the area you live in. I am going to come in and thank you for above links as well as in the future need a 450-500 liter and sources to look at :)

Thankyou minxfishy will check these out too. This site and the people on it are very helpful and if they don't know they will tell you where to look or go.

You will find that even paying for deliveryon ebay it will be so much cheaper than the fish shop tanks! I still got mine for less than half the price with delivery.
