best place to buy a betta?

wher is the best place to find a nice ,younger,male, healthy betta? my mom would think its too much of a pain to get one from a breeder, so i was looking for like a petstore, or some place like that.i am gonna go get one sometime, once i get this ich problem under control.

Petsmart's a very good place for bettas. I personally stay away from Walmart, but that's just me (check out the various threads on Walmart to see what I'm talking about). You can go to any petstore and get healthy bettas b/c these stores take the sick ones and place them in hospital tanks.

I get mine at Petsmart 'cause their bettas always look healthier and livlier than other pet/fish stores I have visited. It will vary where you live though, so it's a good idea to visit the various pet and fish stores in your area to see which one you like best.

working at Petsmart, im glad yall see the effort we put into takeing care of our bettes.

every other day we change the water in its entirety(maybe not so good, but you should see it after two days)

we put them in a solution of salt, stress coat, and this blue medicated betta stuff (forget the name).

as far as what we feed them, fresh thawed out bloodworms every morning.

I work at a fast store so bout' 30 bettas get sold every week so their usually not there that long.

monday mornings are the shipment days for the stores around here, so if you want the best colors and fins, drop on by round' mid day mondays
