Best Place For The Thermometer?

Where is the best place to stick the thermometer?
I have it up the top left corner (when looking front on to tank) its away from the heater, and filter inlet and outlet.

When i do a water change it falls below the thermometer, so i cant keep track too well incase the temp drops too much.

Is the middle (of the height) of the tank the best?

I put mine as far away from the heater as possible to see how much the heater is affecting the tank temp. Dont really think it matters.

I don't think it matter so long as it is not directly next to the heater.
