I can completely relate to everyone who is always looking for a better deal on pet supplies. Lord knows I spend just about every free penny on animals these days. But... (there's always a but isn't there?)... we all like to gripe and complain that out local fish store doesn't have enough exotics, their aquariums are too expensive, the employees aren't knowledgeable (low pay = low grade employee), yada yada yada...

What right do we have to complain about them if we aren't helping support them? So spend an extra buck or two locally. Heck we'll probably still spend the same after we factor in shipping.

Sorry... but even the devil deserves an advocate once in a while :D

Hey..I"m sure we all use our lfs for a ton of stuff. Afterall, there IS a limit where shipping costs outweigh savings of purchases online. However, this is not the cheapest hobby and you have to use some shopping savvy or you won't be able to get that larger tank you want. Eg....my 'lfs' had the 24 gallon Nano Cube for sale for $399. With 8 1/2% NY sales tax, that totals $433. The same tank on Ebay was $290 with free shipping. That $143 savings buys a lot of filter media AT THE LOCAL LFS. SH

Yea i have found many savings in using price match at petsmart :D Which is were i bought my 125 gallon tank for $500
