New tank from nd aquatics should be here in a little over 4 weeks! 48x18x24. Been away from the hobby for just over 2 years, so looking forward getting back!
So, first of many questions.
My new tank is around 300 litres. Planning on going down EI route, pressurised C02, 2.5ish w/g, external filter. Looking at all pinned threads, I'll need to do around 50% water changes per week, so around 150 litres per week. I'll be replacing using a combination of RO + Tap Water.
Now, I used to do this with an 80l bin, but that isn't going to be too practical. Especially in the first 4-6 weeks as I'm intending on silent cycle as described in aaronnorth pinned thread. I was thinking of drilling a hole behind the tank to the outside. Then, somehow, link this to a water butt which I can use to water the garden. Not sure best method though as I'll need to force out the water. Maybe just attach to external filter outlet?
Has anyone any suggestions?
Also, I'm thinking of getting an RO kit as buying that much RO from LFS, I think will be a pain in the backside. Any suggestions on this? Thinking of storing outside again, and then somehow mixing with tap, and boiled water to get correct temp. That could be a bit more interesting!
Thanks in advance for any help
