Best Med For Fungus On A Wound?

My gourami had a cyst that fell off and left an open wound behind. I was treating with antibiotics, but the wound developed a covering of fungus. Any suggestions for the best med to treat it with that has worked well for others? And should I stop the antibiotics while I treat the fungus?

I had a dwarf gourami once that developed a cyst/ulcer on its head and I treated with Myxazin with great results. It's a really good anti-bacterial med. I had some people telling me the fish would die etc but after treating with Myxazin the growth disappeared and he returned to a normal healthy condition.

The problem you have with your gourami is that if there was an open wound from where the cyst was, it could have become infected, hence the fungal appearance. If you are able to treat asap it should clear up, otherwise the condition could worsen and spread.

Thank you for the reply. I started him on the Myxazin, but he's looking much worse today. He's barely able to swim, and starts to drift into a vertical position. His scales are turning black on his head and fins.

I'm not holding out much hope at this point. I really hope he surprises me.
