USA,
I am hoping to convert my tank soon to mbuna. I would like to keep maybe three fish in the tank. I can move two of them, but one must stay.

I will definetly be keeping the Synodontis eupterus, and i want to know what will be the best fish to keep with him? Also, if I can, I would like to keep the rainbow shark, and rubberlip pleco as well. I can move the pleco to my brothers. The shark though is the only issue.

I have herd of julies and rainbows living together, but not sure if mbuna would work or not.

thansk!

The syno will be fine, I have 2 in my Mbuna tank. The rainbow shark will almost certainly not survive the agression, even if you went for less agressive species like yellow labs. The Plec may be OK, I have a sailfin in my Mbuna tank but he is much larger than your plec, probably worth trying though.

I did once have a zebra andtwo artus, my brothers, in a 29 gallon tank for a few weeks, and when I put in one of those plecos it was killied, but this one would be in first. i dont want to risk him though, so if it may not work, then its a no go.

Would I be able to keep zebras and kenyii in a 55 Mbuna tank with the syno?

I thought you didn't like mbuna
Most mbuna would be fine but I have an agresive tank and definately wish some times I never ended up with it like that, I have to suggest something less agresive then kennyi and if that's what you go for possibly a species only tank with one male alot of females then the eupterus, otherwise more peaceful mbuna or medium temperate mbuna, avoid demasoni, kennyi(maylandia lombardoi) auratus, bumblebee(Maylandia crabro) are a few common ones, simply but less acurately by genus generally avoid maylandia, and melanchromis

Put the pleco in first, and don'y add the sharks
A 29gallon was to small for those fish before auratus should be given big tanks

Ive always liked the kenyiis and zebras, though not that many others. I am willing to get to like them though, lol.

They were my brothers, and we did remove them after a month.

The store that I am going to sells mostly the super aggressive ones though, zebras artus kenyii. I dont think they have any medium types, though they do sell peacocks. maybe I can have peacocks and yellow labs?

6 Yellow Labs, 4 rustys and a Peacock centerpiece, along with a few synodontis. It's a past tank of mine and one of my favourates, active and feisty without being very aggressive, lots of color, and best of all - there's no herbivores in the mix to worry about, making it easier to feed the catfish.

The peacock was a little older when I added it, so he could establish the tank as his. I didn't want the drab females or anycompetition of a second male.
