Best lighting?

I have had two tanks now, and they both have a "natural" light. I just bought a used tank with a light and it seems flourescent. Its definately a different lighting than my other two... is one type better than the other? (I hope that makes sense)

Depends on wether you have live plants or not and if so, what types- different plants somtimes need different strengths of light to grow well.

I have a lot of aponegons and lillies, and they are doing great with the natural lighting. I also have all livebearers, do they mind what type of lighting is in the tank?

I don't think the fish mind either way, but i think this kind of question will probably get better answers in the plant section of the forum as im not great on lighting and thats all i can tell you realy...
