Sorry I can't think of any more choices. If you choose other tell me the filter you prefer :D

I use AquaClear power filters on my ten and thirty gallon tanks.

I like AquaClear, too, KimmyFishy89. :D

They are not as expensive as some filters and they work well. To make them work even better, I fill the space above the sponge with filter floss. This catches even more dirt.

The only thing I don't like about them is that the uptake piece has rather large holes in it and I sometimes have to release baby fish from the filter.

The best type of filter has to be sump filtration, not only does it allow you to have far larger surface areas for bacteria to colonise it also increases the surface area of the water allowing you to be able to stock more inches per gallon into the tank. The new fluidised bed filters seem to be good and are getting good reports too but i have yet to fit one (one coming in the post soon though :) )

For more commercially available filters IMO Eheim external canister filters are about the best money can buy, i use the PRO II models and find them excellent.

Me too! I find it catches alot of dirt and preserves the sponge for even longer :D

Agree with CFC, I also run Eheim canisters on all my tanks, well except for the 7 gallon, I really wish Eheim would make a mini canister :)

I have a Fluval filter in my main tank, and an (Italian) Sicce Micron filter in my QT.

my filters kind of weird the water is sucked into the lid via a pump and in there is a v big porous sponge next to that is asmaller finer sponge and then there is some activated carbon then a biowheel very confusing :p

BIO-wheels all the way for me. No other filtration system can touch a BIO-wheel! Money-wise or not.

:D I have 2 Eclipse tanks (BioWheel), and I swear by them. Mom has a 30 gallon with an Eclipse also. She's had many tanks and filtration systems since she was a teenager (now 61) and swears Eclipse is the best. :hooray:
