Well, about 10. I think its about 11 UK gallons. This is my albino tank, it will be pretty heavily stocked (I mean, as stocked as I can without getting silly). Preferably not too visible or expensive, must be available in the UK.

Canister filters are the better bet but cost more, but for a 10G an internal filter like a fluval +3 would be more than ample.(just a pain to clean if you have plants)

I think a Fluval 2+ would be better, I've got that on my 15 and its fine. The 1 is rated for 10 gallons, so I'll go one up. I'll have a lookie on ebay.

why ask the question in the first place?

LOL, I meant the size. What I mean is what brand is best? Since I've only got a fluval, I have no idea what other filters are like. There are plenty of types out there, I just have no idea whats good and what isn't.

oohhhhhhh  .

I am like you....fluval 2+, fluval 3+, fluval 204 and fluval 304.

I have never *touches wood, crosses fingers, toes and everything else he can* had any problems with them and until I do i am sticking with them.

i would suggest the same for you :D

You might think this is strange, but I've gone back to using the good, old fashioned box filters on my 10 gallon tanks and on many of my 20 gallon tanks too.

I like them because they do a good job at both mechanical and biological filtration, are inexpensive, and are completely adjustable. In addition, the air pump that powers them is a very versatile and useful piece of equipment. Depending on the model you get, it can be used to run the box filter, and/or a sponge filter as well as airstones. :D

a good old hang on filter like a whisper or a aquaclear are fine. No matter what filter you have, water changes have to be done frequently.
