Best Cichlid For My 25 Gallon Tank.

I latley bought a 25 gallon tank with some live plants and 3 cory cats. someone suggested getting some Bolivian Rams or German Blue Rams. as I was finding information of those I stumbled across KeyHole Cichlids...would one fit in my tank? All I really want is something big for my fish tank. just one fish (not including cory cats) is there anything bigger i could put in? I wil be doing water changes every day and checking the ph/kh & gh normally. I will also be adding some rocks and slate for some hiding places...

Any thoughts?

I love keyholes.. not sure why you'd be doing water changes everyday.. that seems like a little too much..

but you could keep a keyhole in there.. Might be pretty shy though, that's the only thing I'd be concerned about.

Well I had one eat the eye from a Cory, but from what I've read they are usally peaceful, I think I would put them in a bigger tank though.

You want the biggest cichlid that can live in 25 gallons, but one that will also live alongside cories? I have no idea which cichlid could do all that. A convict cichlid (males normally get about 5-6 " in length) could live in that 25 gallon tank, but the cories would have to go...good luck to you, though.

Well in your profile, it says you have 1 Blue Acara in the 25G and comeing soon, 1 ram...and in a topic a couple of days ago, it said you have a discus comeing....???

Have you got a discus? Is there one comeing? Have you cancelled your order?

What about the Acara?!?!? Is that in there or not?

If there is a Discus comeing or in that tank, then your main concarn should be to get it out of that tank, then worry about what to put in next.

Yes, you should be more worried about your Acara, but to answer your question, really the only Cichlid I can think of that can go in there is Either some German Blue Rams or some Bolivian Rams.

Think about getting other Cichlids when you get a bigger tank
