Best algae eaters

As topic heading - which would you recommend as the best algae eater of the two?

I have a new 55 UK gall tank ready to put fish into - no algae problems as such (yet !! ). I have otos in one tank and a SAE in another and wondered what to go for with this one. The SAE will outgrow his current home, so I guess I'm thinking of moving him into the 55 gall.

that would be a plan, you could still put otos though

what i like about otos is that they eat nothing but algea, SAE will eat flakes and if they're not hungry, won,t eat algea

I do like my wee otos, I must admit. Soooo - I could put both lots in - that sounds like a good plan. Cheers, yvez9

I have Otos and an SAE (and other fish) in a 29-gallon (US) tank. As the SAE has gotten bigger, he's gotten a bit territorial towards the Otos (and the Guppy, who is black and white, if that makes any difference). Nothing severe, but if they come in to "his" spot, he chases 'em out. I re-arranged the plants to break up his territory, but he just claimed a new spot (which I pretty much expected. I'd guess that in a 55 you'll be less likely to have territory issues. It's something to be aware of, though.
